Creating a marketing plan to get your name recognized and develop an online presence that will bring recognition once your book is recognized isn’t difficult. In fact, it’s probably the easiest marketing you’ll do.
Review Books You Read -
Every time you read a book, go write a quick review. This does a couple of things for you. It brings you recognition for the books you read, connects you to a specific genre of books (the ones you read), and identifies you in that given area of expertise.
Blog Your Ideas and Thoughts -
Whether you’re always writing on a specific topic, or in general writing about things that interest you, people who are ‘like’ you will begin to connect to you on those ideas and thoughts. Name recognition will bring them back to you time after time. Your thoughts are important, use them to your advantage.
Social Media Connections -
Connect to groups and pages that relate to your areas of interest and post comments. People want to know what you have to say, so say something interesting and memorable. Even if you’re quoting someone else, do it with personality and connect with your reading audience. Make connections and refer people to your own sites occasionally so they get to know you too.
Speak Out -
Yes, your opinion is valuable. Speak out when something affects you and say what matters to you. There’s always another side, nothing says someone with a different opinion can’t state it. But willingly share YOUR opinion. Others need to know what you believe.
Guest Blog -
Offer up value and ask if you can speak out as a guest on someone else’s blog where relevant. Post your thoughts along with comments and suggestions others can follow.
These are all great ideas for marketing yourself, your books, your businesses online.
