So… You’re an expert?
Are you published?
Those questions rock the world of writers everywhere. We listen to people talk and wonder if they wrote about it. Did you write a book?
What’s the title of your last book? Can I get a copy of your book on Amazon.com?
My favorite line from a seminar attendee… If you’re so smart, what have you written? Huh?
Publishing a book in your genre is one of the easiest, fastest ways to achieve expert status. When you’re standing in an elevator talking up your business on the fast track, you give a little elevator speech that edifies your business. Something in ten words or less. Then drop the BIG bomb, the one that brings them back to your business site for more information.
It starts in a conversation with your friend riding next to you. “My book, Title, is now available on Amazon.”
They may not remember the name of your website, but when you said your BOOK is available on Amazon… you’re a celebrity. They’ll find you. Everyone in the elevator will be looking for your book on Amazon, tweeting their peeps about riding the elevator with you, and sharing your book on facebook. Find a friend, ride busy elevators, talking about your book and the new release, how many you’ve sold so far, and that this book is about to get blasted over the Internet as a FREE book on Amazon, or whatever sales gimmick you have going for your new release. Plaster it all over your website and tell the world you’ve been proclaimed an expert in your new status.
By the way, invite your friends to post comments and links too. Tweet often!
