It’s all in the details…
”Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”
–William A. Foster
Sometimes, you just have to realize the value comes in the everyday contentment of being yourself no matter what comes your way.
The Monday after Mother’s Day is always a contemplative day for me… What would I change? Is there anything I could do differently from before that would make life better? What could make me a better person?
Well, I realized yesterday that I’m surrounded by AMAZING individuals(not for the first time, I might add). Four of them I raised (and yeah, I’m taking credit for that, I must have done something RIGHT), and they’re absolutely incredibly well done. The light of Christ shines in these four amazing and wonderful individuals, like in no other. They are bright and shining stars in their world, and that alone makes them totally awesome. Three of them have children (who are right up there next to perfect on the ‘best grandchildren ever’ scale) and are rocking parenthood.
So, what makes the people in my life amazing?
I see Christ in them.
They excel in living well. They live each day with a kind of contentment and everlasting joy that only comes from knowing that eternity is covered, and today is important because EVERY single moment is a blessing.
I quoted William Foster, above. Let’s break that quote down…
”Quality is never an accident;”
We don’t get to live quality lives by accident. We plan it. The better we plan our lives, the more likely we are to live high quality lives, give higher quality to others, and make a better quality difference in the lives of others. The plan may not work out always, but if you’re planning well, you’ll be ready for whatever comes your way.
How do you plan?
Start out with prayer and supplication to the Lord. He is the first step, the first option, and first in all you do. When you give him first place, everything else falls into place. Put God first.
“it is always the result of high intention,”
What is your intent? Is it to be a good person? Is it to live a Christ-like life? Is it to put others first? Is your intention to be the best YOU that you can be? What is your intention? Quality is a result of your intention. Make sure your intentions are good, honorable, and above board.
Devious, underhanded people, ALWAYS get back what they intend for others.
“sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution;”
Make a sincere effort to do what is good, honorable, and right in the eyes of God.
You must understand that your effort, based on your intelligent direction – goals and choices – together with determined and skillful execution, that process of doing what you do, is what gets you the results you want from life. Where is your effort? What choices and goals have you made? Are you skillfully executing those choices?
“it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”
Look back over your life and decide if you’ve made good choices. You still have an opportunity to make a different choice, to make a difference. There are many opportunities. The choices you’ve made in the past are NOT necessarily the choices you have to live with the rest of your life. You CAN change directions, make a difference, and get different outcomes from now on?
It’s Monday – the perfect day to set in action any new choices you want to make to change your future life. If you have questions – just ask. Click on the photo above or go to JAVA with Jan and ask me how you can make better choices, take a turn for the better, or change your life, from this day forward.
”Stop acting as if life is a rehearsal. Live this day as if it were your last. The past is over and gone. The future is not guaranteed.”
It’s all up to you… Let’s do this!
