Someone said, “You should be a writer.”

I took them seriously. Grandma told me when I was 18, that I should write a book. Mom suggested many times as I shared my short essays through school, “You have to write.” In high school, my journalism instructor said, “You write great fiction.” (It wasn’t a compliment, I was reporting on an event.)

Painting the Bigger Picture

Yes, it’s a big, big world and we often think of it as a huge place, bigger than we can imagine. But not always. There are times when this world feels like it’s shrinking… Like this morning, for about five minutes of the twenty minute round trip to take my son to school. The skies were soft shaded tones of blue, some cloudy, some clear, open from the broad prairies to the Rocky Mountains and totally visible. I felt as if I could see forever…

Easter Bunnies Warmed in My Water Bed

It is that time of year again, when I know I’m going to be thinking about finding some baby bunnies to share the day, maybe some chicks, and quite possibly a few jack rabbits (since they’re more likely to be available somewhere near my Highlands Ranch home on the greenbelt). I know, without a doubt that there will be talk of the Easter Bunny at our house. It’s a simple method of keeping family and friends updated on the happenings of your life, or telling your business associates what’s up and coming in your life, or better yet, … Continue…

LinkedIn Social Media —

Doesn’t really feel very social, unless you join groups. That’s what I found out tonight. Nothing new, but the secret is joining groups who do what you do. I figured if other people were saying this, I might need to remind my readers of the same message. Join the groups. I’ve been playing around with LinkedIn as a writer and have a whole load of friends and business associates who are all WRITERS but very few small business links.
