Writing for Cash — How do you Make Money Online?
Tonight was writers group. ACE Writers gather at the home of Oris George and we chatter about writing, everything from blogs to pink depression glass to anything else that comes up, including the writings of a 14 year old who’s well on his way to presenting his first full length novel. Tonight’s meeting was about blogging and how to bring your blog to the top of the search engines for specific terms that relate to your topic.
Search engine terms and concepts aren’t so very difficult, but they aren’t easy if you’re not willing to do the work. Keyword marketing and presentation requires some effort. You must know the keywords to optimize, and you must know how to use them and promote them to get where you want to go with the SEO you are doing on your website. Writing for Cash can make you money online, but you probably won’t get rich unless you have a credible topic and can write fluent, well organized material about that topic. Then, of course, you must have product and services to sell in that general field of interest.
SEO is a means of driving traffic. No matter what method you use to drive traffic, the reality is, you’ll have to have a product or services to sell once you have traffic. There are many ways to drive traffic, SEO is only one of those. So, you know you need traffic, but what do you do once the traffic is speeding through your site. How can you stop them and keep them coming back?
Products, services, incredibly interesting content and your personality will keep your readers coming back, time and time again. If you provide great product, something the reader can’t get elsewhere, or at least not with your great service, they’ll come back. If your service is extraordinary, they’ll come back for more of that. If your content supersedes anyone else in the blog-o-sphere they’ll be coming back for that. But seriously, if your personality clicks with theirs, you become their friend and offer them something they aren’t getting elsewhere, they’ll not only come back, but they’ll stick around and call you when they need something, when their friends need something, or when they want to tell their friends about the great site they’ve found. That’s when you make money online.
There’s no doubt in my mind that the first time you’ll begin making money online is when your purpose for building business and your personality blend to attract the kind of readers who will keep on coming back for more of whatever it is you offer. Writing for cash means you have the ability to communicate you personality in print and make it work to market you and your business.
