Halloween – Brings to mind…

The question of where an elephant sits in a helicopter… Elephant - Elizabeth Although, I’m not convinced this little elephant wanted to sit in the helicopter at all. But wearing that gorgeous little elephant costume and her bright and shining new black snow boots, how could she not look absolutely stunning in the sunshine sitting next to the devil himself?

Um, if he was intending to entertain children, you’d think he’d have chosen a more kid-friendly costume. But, then again, All Hollow’s Even isn’t for timid spirits.

There are so many memories that come flooding back on Halloween, each filled to the brim with something that means family, friends, and good times. Only one Halloween in my memory is not a good one, and on that night, I couldn’t understand how such a small town could be inundated with so many ‘devils’ and careless people. The sirens never stopped. They just kept going, long after midnight, they still shrilled the night with warnings. Fires sprung up on street corners, bales of hay were unrolled and lit on fire in the middle of the street. Grown men were the culprits, setting fires, breaking pumpkins and damaging anything they thought they might get away with damaging. Way back then I felt it was a sad way to spend a holiday, vandolizing a community, and I still feel the same way.

Still to this day, I’ve never experienced such malicious behavior,  or so many hellions with bad manners.

It’s nice to live in a civilized community where the worst thing that happens is someone’s house gets Toilet Papered or a few eggs get tossed. Even on a night when the moon is nearly full and high in the star filled sky, the kids were out having a good time, and nobody set any fires.
