There was a time when it took way more than a coffee maker to excite me. Those days were back when my dreams included fancy cars, big houses and luxuries most could only imagine. Then something happened and I realized that happiness comes with relationships that fill up your heart, and I recognized the coffee maker as the ultimate relationship device.
Hot Chocolate and Tea –
Hot water flows through my coffee maker on cold winter nights for making the most delicious hot chocolate or hot spiced tea. It’s ready and waiting to create a carafe filled with hot water for such delicious treats.
Morning Coffee Brewing –
Mr. Coffee brews on a timer for a delicious bit of early morning wake up juice, featuring my favorite ready for breakfast blend of coffee. I love the timeliness of a good pot of coffee, sending decadent aroma’s around the house.
Whether the treat is a specialty coffee in my cup, topped with whipped cream, delightful syrups and cream or coffee shop salts on top, or coffee brewed extra strong for flavoring brownies, chocolate cake or cookies in the oven, my coffee maker serves up a spectacular array of specialties. In fact, I think I’ll keep my coffee maker.
Dedicating a whole shelf in the kitchen to my coffee maker, toppings and treats that go with the hot brew wasn’t really a decision we made while we were awake. More likely it was an event that just happened over time, and resulted in the filling of a shelf with coffee necessities, requirements and pleasures.
Seasonal preferences determine what flavors are readily available on the coffee cabinet, but there are a few that never change. Always, mocha is on the shelf in syrup, powder and coffee form to fill our chocolate cravings. Come springtime the toppings lighten up to include a little cinnamon, some vanilla and maybe a bit of hazelnut, then along comes summer and more often than not our coffee is whipped into frothy oblivion with the blender and cubed ice. Autumn brings pumpkin pie spice, caramel and heartwarming amaretto… but, I believe winter is my favorite season. This is the time when peppermint sprinkles, cinnamon and sugar, nutmeg, eggnog, salted caramel and all those decadent coffee dunking sticks fill up the counter around my coffee maker. Stacks of cookies fill my lazy Susan and decorate platters on the table and anywhere near the coffee maker counter.
So, if you’re in the mood for a little relationship building, want something decadent and hot to drink, come on over, I’ll put the coffee pot on and we can have us a chat. Please visit Coffee for more about coffee, relationships, coffee shops and chats.
