This morning’s live broadcast by Ryan Biddulph was all about selling your own products with consistency. And I remembered that some of my customers have mentioned, “Oh, I didn’t know you were published.” whenever I talk about my books. As often as I show them online, or in person, or talk about them, I suppose it’s possible that people don’t realize I am actually the author. So, I wanted to review some thoughts on how to market your own products frequently, of course… Without sounding borish.
Who wants to sound boring, or redundant when promoting themselves?
So the key to marketing your own books and products is to show them where people see them, and randomly mention them in discussions about your services, or topics of interest you readily discuss.
I’m a firm believer that if you’re listening to what I say, and reading my blog content, you’re definitely going to want copies of my books, because they’re viable content collectively gathered and promoted in one spot. More often than not, my books are expanded versions of what I post online, with more information for those who need it.
I really do publish my “summaries” as blog posts.
What’s in the Book?
My blog posts are summaries of the same basic matrix that I often use when writing a book, or publishing the whole matrix online. I give you the introductory version via blog post, and then you have a choice of purchasing the book for more information, or taking a course offered for the same purpose, but in course format with access to me. There are many reasons for doing both.
1 – Essential Outline of Contents
Always the basic, undiluted content in scripted format, with just the essential information. Plus a paragraph or two of description, definition, and dialogue.
2 – The Story Version of Why I’m Sharing This Content
The why. Everyone wants to know why? It’s the first question you ask as a child, and the most asked question of a lifetime. Why? So, why do you want to know? Why did you do that? Why should I buy your book? This part of my book is always the fun part for me to share, because I’m telling a story about life, customer actions, and how things work in content based marketing. Usually, this will be the fun part of the book to read as well.
3 – Purpose and Intent of Content
Solidifying the purpose of my efforts. This is where the why comes together with solid reasoning and how your application of the information I provide will benefit you. My intent is always to improve your life, your business, and your efforts at success.
4 – Step-by-Step Actions to Take
I’m going to give you the exact actions you’ll be taking. Included in this is the process of getting every bit of value out of the content. So, I’ll offer recommendations of things such as print out the document, so you can write on it, take notes, and apply your own active processing to the application of the program in front of you. Your system will differ slightly from mine, because you’re unique (just like all my other customers). I teach individuals, and if you get stumped – you’ll find somewhere in the book a means of contacting me – I definitely am willing to help you personalize the learning curve.
5 – Additions and Addendums
Those if/then statements come in handy here. If you got a lot out of the step-by-step directions, you might actually benefit from taking the e-course, because it applies a more direct, hands on, kind of instruction. I offer e-courses as part of most book posts, and I’m always up for increasing the abject time, though a coffee visit, or other consultation.
I’ve been told visiting with me over coffee is like digging into a pit of wisdom and coming out saturated with “smart ideas” by more than one coffee-mate.
Not that I’m tooting my own horn here, but those who buy me coffee frequently do so for a reason. Click on the Coffee Cup to grab your spot at my table! Let’s do coffee soon.
6 – More Information Than You Ever Wanted
This is where I pack the junk and treasures. More often than not, there’s a whole slew of treasured tidbits of information in this section of the book that you may not have known you needed. But… I’ve packed them in and I’ll give them to you to hold onto until you need them. This section of the book is a treasure trove of ideas, both useful and worthy, to be treasured and kept sacred. Because you’re going to need what I offer here.
- Seeds of truth necessary to build your business.
- Reasons why integrity and principles matter in every deal you make.
- Ways and means of connecting with hungry buyers of your products and services.
- Actionable steps to becoming the authority in your given niche.
- Comprehensive resources necessary for your business development.
- Techniques and strategies for generating profit with mass marketing ventures.
- Specific formats for creating your own success blueprint.
- Tips and recommendations you should apply to your business.
- Useful and automated tools necessary for achieving your goals.
- Relevant connections you’ll need to get where you want to go in business.
These are just the basics of what you’ll get when you purchase my books on the same topic as some of my blog posts. If there’s a link to a book in that blog post, and you want more information… Don’t hesitate, buy the book.
7 – Call to Action
Here’s the deal. When I write a book, I’m essentially setting into action a series of events that can and will take you further along the path to achieving the goal you set for yourself. I’m giving you specific interactive directions that you can apply to creating your own success. Truth be told, I’m literally giving you everything you need to achieve the goals we discuss in the beginning of the book for the lowest price at which the information is available. It’s all in the book.
Along with everything you need to achieve your goal, I’m going to give you directions. Yes, that means I’m telling you what to do.
I won’t leave you at the end of the book wondering what to do next. I’ll TELL you what to do. And then, I’ll tell you where to find the course you need, or the information you need, to take the next step.
I’ll be asking if you’ve set your goal, if you’ve done the work, if you’ve followed the step-by-step process in the book. And if you haven’t done that… I’ll tell you to call me for more specific information.
I’ll schedule you for a consultation.
We’ll complete the work that we’ve started in you.
Because that’s what a good consultant does!
Market Your Own Products Frequently
Not only should you be marketing your own products frequently, but you would benefit greatly to include products and services of others in your marketing repertoire. When you market others as you work through your daily blogging and social media tracks, you gain valuable relevance in the marketplace.
When you market others in ways that mean you get paid to market their work, and still present them in a responsible, beneficial manner, everyone gains something of value. If you’re making money doing the promotion, the big positive there is that you’ll be in business long enough to market them again, and again. That’s the keeper.
When you make money doing what you do – everyone benefits.
You’re in this to bless others, but if you’re never blessed by the effort, you won’t be able to continue.
Market your own products often, in order to keep them in front of the audience and moving for profit. Sell it! You wrote it, be proud of your efforts.
