Don’t be a luna-moth. Stay focused.
I often speak out on bright and shiny object syndrome, that crazed deer in the headlights look that comes over you when you see a new opportunity and the last one isn’t materializing as fast as you think it should. Some invest at such a rapid pace that they can’t ever fully consume their first investment before they make another. Master marketing funnels (those ones that pop up with the NEXT BEST THING immediately after you buy the first one) are created for you.
While the best marketers use those funnel programs to provide their customers with better values, and more information, the big money guys who won’t be in business next month, use them to make fast money. And they sell to bright object seekers. Stay focused.
How to stay focused and achieve your goal.
When you know your mission, understand and value your purpose, you’ll be more able to stay focused.
I’m always astounded by those who say, “It’s all about the money!” because in their exhaustive efforts to make money, they really never do. Sad reality, but you can’t make money if that is your only goal. You just can’t. You must stay focused.
- Know your source. Understand your purpose.
- Follow your mentor’s advice.
- If you don’t have a mentor who is making some money online, find one. You NEED a mentor.
- Be unstoppable in your drive to achieve your purpose.
1 – Escape the Insanity of Repeated Errors.
This is a constant for those who chase the bright and shiny. They’re so intent on the wrong thing, that they repeatedly do the wrong thing over and over again, ignoring the good advice they get. Always to their own demise. Stop repeating the same broken program, and find your purpose. Then follow your mentor’s advice.

2 – Narrow Your Niche.
If your target market is six figure earners and you’ve NEVER made six figures in your life… You can’t talk to those people. They spot a fraud in a millisecond, and they know you’re not authentic. Talk to people in your own niche. Make your first million online, then try to talk to those who seek to follow you.
Tighten down your niche and stop trying to be all things to all people. Nobody can fill those shoes. Get and stay focused on your niche market.
3 – Sell One Thing.
Let’s be honest here… You’re offering 35,000 opportunities online, and you’ve never sold a single one of them. Have you? Well, if not… Focus on one. Find one that you know is the best deal on the planet, and sell it to five people. Find FIVE buyers for one thing. Then you can expand and sell something else with it.
This is a simple task, and it works… If you do what I’m telling you. Sell ONE thing to five buyers, then add to your product list.
4 – Be Unstoppable.
A couple weeks ago, I had an appointment come up with a client in a new area. As I arrived at the appointment, I felt a panic attack coming on. Totally out of my element, I pushed through the fear, gasping for air, and entered the building. I stopped at the counter to “breathe” and the clerk realized where I was supposed to go and rushed me off to meet the client. My quick breath catching moment was gone, and I was still in panic mode when the buyer appeared. Face-to-face, my panic pushed through to the surface again, and I was literally gasping for air the whole time we talked. Quite honestly, wishing I could drop into a hole in the earth, and escape.
I pushed through my panic attack, and sold the ad. A full page ad. Possibly, the client bought the ad so I’d leave before he had to call 9-1-1, but I sold it. I returned a couple of weeks later, without the panic attack, to the same client’s business.
Sometimes you have to push through the panic to get to the goal. Don’t stop. Keep pushing. You’ll get there and you’ll win. But if you stop and look to either side, you’ll stall out and you won’t make your goal. Be unstoppable. Push on through and achieve your goal. Stay focused.
5 – Don’t Fall for Bright and Shiny Objects.
Give it a day. Think about what you’re looking at, and what you have in your hand. If what you have is good, and you haven’t made a concerted effort to find success, sell your product, and achieve your first goal – pass on the Bright and Shiny. Go sell your first product, first. It’s easy when you stay focused.
It’s really ALL about you, your purpose, and your motives.
You can’t make money if you’re all about money, and have nothing of value to offer.
Find your focus, and stick with it until you get that one thing right… Then add something else.
Without exception, my focus is ALWAYS to help others achieve their goals. My objective and purpose is to help my clients find their own voice, use the skills God has provided them, and create a sense of empowerment for those who have the desire to offer their products online. Either products they design, or affiliate products they believe in.
Remember, if you can’t believe in it and buy it yourself, you’re not going to sell it. It just won’t happen.
Be authentic and sell what you know and love.
