Meet the challenge, be unstoppable.
Did you ever wonder what makes one person succeed over another? The key isn’t in being born the right color, or into the right family, or with the right number on your social security card. The key is doing whatever it takes to make the grade. Be unstoppable.
You just keep going.
You keep moving, no matter what comes up. Your plan is to achieve your ultimate goal (which cannot possibly be achieved in your lifetime) and you keep working toward the overall effort of your goal.
Success is the continued act of achievement.
Are you there yet?
What is your ultimate Goal?
As I contemplated writing this message, I realized there may be many who don’t understand what or why they need an ultimate goal – the one that isn’t completed during your lifetime. So, I want to explain to you the reason for such a powerful eventuality.
God’s creation is filled up and overflowing with ‘ultimate goals’ that never end. They are unstoppable.
Consider for a moment the tomato patch where you planted tomatoes year after year. Each year, as you prepared for the next year’s crop, there were random tomatoes that got turned over into the soil. Droppings, tomatoes that had ripened on the vine and fell to the ground, fed the soil and left to their own power, grew up as random tomatoes the next year. These amazing producers around the fourth or fifth year, became a storehouse of production. By acclimating themselves to the soil, the surroundings, and their situation. Because they were replanted by nature, came up naturally, and fed on the natural settings, they became massive producers and continued as long as the soil and moisture provided an atmosphere available to care for them.
Those tomatoes had an ultimate goal of returning, year after year. Even after the mother plant was long gone, the seeds replanted and reproduced.
Your ultimate goal should be almost as random as those tomatoes.
Except planned! Planned by you. Planted by you. Watered, nurtured, and promoted to grow and become more and more prolific as you get older, expanding through generations until your influence is felt generations later.
How do you begin planting for your ultimate goal?
Find your message. You can generate all kinds of goals, but the biggest goal of your life will be your message. It may not be only YOUR message. This can be a message that will catch on with others, or perhaps you’re given the task of sharing someone else’s message.
Tricia Lott Williford offered up a bit of advice in her first book that took hold. It captured attention, drew a crowd, and build to a crescendo before her second book was released.
“Do the next thing!”
This little suggestion carried me through a number of days, convinced me that I could go the next mile. And I repeated it to many who needed that advice. If you’re struggling, just do the next thing. It was Tricia’s message, but I shared it. I know it’s continuing, because I hear it often. I hear people frequently respond to those who need to know what to do, “Just do the next thing. Whatever it is. If it is get a drink of water… Do that.” And it works. When you can’t think of anything to do, you do the next thing. Her message will be helping women, daughters, and granddaughters for eons.
When Brenna Seibert uttered her “For the love of everything…” and left it sitting on her facebook page one morning… The world grabbed her message. The phrase caught on… Standing in line behind a young mom, struggling with a toddler, a baby in her arms, and an older child pulling on her to get to the play area, she responded, “For the love of everything! Stop.”
I raised an eyebrow and waited, as things calmed down, I asked her where she’d heard that line… “One of my favorite bloggers. She writes Pages of Parenthood and she was a single mom too.” I smiled proudly, knowing that blogger is my daughter. When I told her, she said, “She’s my hero. Two kids and a job. I can barely keep up with three kids and a husband. I was single with one for three years. Really, I miss her stuff. She’s good at encouraging others.”
But what is your message?
The key to finding your message is knowing what keeps you moving. What is it you really want to accomplish? What do you want to do?
The secret of finding that one single thing that you can share is finding what you do best, and how well you promote that one single thing.
Are you a prolific reproducing tomato? Or are you a rose breaking through the winter snow to show up in the spring and blossom in the sun’s love?
What is your message?
Find the message you want the world to share and speak it into existence.
Tell someone what you want the world to say.
Make a difference. Be unstoppable. Keep moving forward and share your message. Tell the world what you want the world to say, and keep repeating it until it catches on. Make a difference. Be unstoppable.
You change the world by sharing your message. When the world hears you and repeats you, the echoes you hear are your message resounding, circling the earth. That’s YOU. That’s your ultimate goal being spewed out into the universe.
This is the most important part of this process…
Make sure your message is a positive one!
Let’s do coffee.
