Did you ever wonder what happens when your faith is bigger than your troubles? You win. When faith overcomes your troubles, you win. It’s a simple concept, and yet… so hard for some to grasp.
Skip Ross says, “Whatever you speak out of your mouth, that’s what will happen to you.”
The Bible says, in Romans 10:10 “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Whatever you speak out of your mouth, that will happen to you.
When FAITH overcomes your troubles, you win. When you speak out of your mouth, wisdom, faith, belief in the super-natural power and word of God, you win. Because the words you speak are confessions of the heart and that which you believe with all that lives inside of you, you win. You believe in Him. You win.
Psalm 46: “God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.”
When you seek Him, Believe.
As a business owner, I tend to spend a lot of time teaching. Even just this morning, I had a web-client sending me a cover for his next book, asking about the design. Even though his design is “good enough” to grab the attention of his readers, there were things he could do to make the design of his new cover better. As a writer, graphics designer, the key to being published is often doing as much as possible yourself, because you have the knowledge of what you want… And doing it yourself is affordable.
Consulting is what I do for income…
I’m a business consultant, writer consultant, sometimes graphic arts consultant, and more often than not a consultant on a variety of things required for a small business to be profitable. That means, when a business is starting out, sometimes I give a lot away.
As I offered help to this writer, I realized I’m ‘giving away my livelihood‘. But really what does that mean?
When I step out on faith believing that God is my provider, I know that I can’t out give God. It can’t be done… So, no matter what I give away, I know that God will bring it back to me ten-fold. Ten times what I give away, God will give me back.
Does this mean I keep giving and giving? No. It means sometimes, to help another business owner, writer, to start making money… I give them suggestions and help them get started.
Will I give EVERYONE those same things? Yes. My blog is FILLED TO RUNNING OVER, with detailed recommendations for marketing your business, growing your writer platform and building your online presence.
If you want to know more… Buy me coffee!
Well, that’s easy. You get more information, and I get a great cup of Joe. The real deal here is that you don’t have to be any closer than your telephone to get a one on one consult with an expert – me – at online marketing for your business, or your book. Can’t beat that concept with a stick on a hot summer day!
But what does all that have to do with my topic and this discussion today?
When Faith Overcomes Your Troubles…
Maybe the most important thing you’ll learn when we meet on the phone, is that you can’t spew negativity about your business and expect to grow the business you want to have.
Speak into existence that which you want to have and it will come to you. This isn’t a name it and claim it operation, and I’m not talking about that kind of faith. What I am talking about, is making your dreams come true by speaking good concepts, good words, and your own good encouragement into existence as you work to motivate yourself and others toward building your business.
When David Grant spoke last Sunday at church, I really wasn’t expecting to get a beefed up reminder of Zig Ziglar’s “Reformation Speech” from my youth. Or to hear the words of Skip Ross come streaming out of his mouth, either… But there they were.
“Be not conformed to this world, but by changing your words and your mind, live your dreams. As we change our words, our thoughts will change.”
Dr. Wayne Dyer says something similar, and then on another level he adds, “There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love; there’s only scarcity of resolve to make it happen.”
The clincher we face when we’re speaking words of negativity out of our mouths, is that we seal our fate in the same way we doom our faith to faithlessness. You can’t have faith in anything over which you speak negativity. Your experience of life will show forth in your effort to speak with positive influence to those whom you lead, whom you guide, and by whom you are known.
How do you speak to others?
Like most, I randomly fail at moving my message forward. I get into whiny rages that don’t do what I need them to do, and I’m literally cutting my own throat professionally. It’s a bad thing. And it’s a thing I have to stop. Others do the same thing, and I catch myself pointing it out to them, and recognize my own short-falls and failures. Ouch.
But the end result of those “catches” is that I do catch myself and turn it around. What about you?
Do you catch yourself saying the wrong thing and fix it?
It’s more than just an everyday, business deal kind of thing. What you say to others makes a huge difference in how you live your life. Motivated communications, encouragement, and inspiration can make a big difference for your way of thinking about what you do, how you do things, and literally how long you live.
Yes, I did say that… how you say things can make a HUGE difference in how long you live. I know there are some who will argue this point, but I’m going to give you some serious things to think about that will help you understand what I’m talking about.
Your faith matters, you win!
Below are a list of comments people make about themselves and others (including me) and how they can be stated in better ways, that reflect better on the speaker – AND encourage, rather than denigrate those who hear what is said:
Wrong: I’m so tired of being fat and lazy. I’m too tired to push through this task. (I caught myself saying this recently. EW. UGH.)
Before I get into this discussion, I’m going to tell you that I have in the past had health issues that influenced my weight, and I don’t think I’ve ever been lazy in my life.
Right: I must get moving and finish this job. I really love how I feel when I complete a task and it’s done on time!
Did I acknowledge that I had something to do in both situations? And that I had to get moving to do them? Of course I did. But in the first one, I put myself down, and accused myself of being lazy. In the second one, I stated a fact, “I must get moving” and a feeling “I really love how I feel” which both motivated me, and encouraged me.
Then there’s always that other statement we make in the middle of the day when we are tired and hungry, and haven’t really done anything beyond sit at the desk:
Wrong: I’m sleepy.
Right: I have so much energy, I need a walk!
So, take a walk. It’s that easy. Up your energy with action.
Why should you fix it?
The thing is, what you speak out of your mouth is an action you’re taking. You voiced the words and you will follow through on what you say… If you say, “I’m sleepy.” chances are pretty good, you’re going to either fall asleep at the desk, or take a nap. You’re sleepy. Instead, speak what you want and then take physical action. Take a walk, increase your energy, and come back to the task. A five minute walk out to the mail box, or to the deck to get some fresh air, or even to the bathroom to wash your face can boost your energy and bring back your alert, mental acuity, and ability to function.

When Faith overcomes your troubles… You win!
I don’t know about you, but when I figure out the short cut to overcome troubles, and find it as simple as having faith and knowing that I can overcome through FAITH, I feel like a winner. I win. And you can win as well. It’s that easy.
Believing you’re able to accomplish the task at hand, and support your efforts with confirmation through speaking positively, in faith, what you truly want and believe.
